The Art Hunger is an artist-driven initiative dedicated to nurturing and showcasing local artists in Redding, CA. Through gallery exhibitions, events and collaborative projects, we transform spaces into vibrant hubs of creativity, fostering cultural growth and artistic expression. As a project of Viva Downtown, we provide a platform for artists to connect, share their work, and thrive.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2026!
As we move into 2026, The Art Hunger is entering a new chapter of growth and experimentation.
We're building on the momentum of previous years, by expanding our programming with new exhibitions, artist-led workshops, community collaborations, and creative initiatives designed to support artists at every stage of their journey.
Our focus for the year ahead is deeper engagement: creating more opportunities for artists to learn, connect, and be seen, while continuing to activate spaces, strengthen partnerships, and celebrate the diversity of creative voices in our region.
2026 is about nurturing a stronger, more connected arts community.
THE ART HUNGER GALLERY
Located in the historic IOOF Hall in Downtown Redding, The Art Hunger Gallery is a vibrant hub for creativity and community. The Art Hunger is proud to partner with Viva Downtown Redding, a Main Street America Organization dedicated to the social, cultural, and economic development of Downtown Redding. This collaboration has been instrumental in bringing our vision to life and creating a vibrant arts community in the heart of the city.

At The Art Hunger Gallery, our monthly programming is rooted in building community through art and creating a welcoming, inclusive space for artists and the public.
All monthly programs are free and open to the public, reflecting our commitment to making art accessible. It is designed to nurture the local artist community while encouraging connection, collaboration, and creative growth.

Our Art Show Opening Nights take place every First Friday of the month and are a celebration of creativity, community, and connection. Each opening invites the public to experience a new exhibition, meet local artists, and gather in a welcoming, inclusive space centered around art.
These free events are a chance to engage with fresh work, support Northern California artists, and be part of the vibrant creative energy that defines The Art Hunger Gallery.
ART SHOW OPENING NIGHTS
First Friday of the Month 5 to 8 pm
Your chance to connect with fellow artists, work on your projects, and be part of a supportive creative community.
Bring your current project, share ideas, and enjoy a relaxed, inspiring atmosphere. It’s a safe space to create, collaborate, and celebrate the joy of art.
No experience necessary—just bring your creativity!

We're hosting an Open Drawing Night every second Wednesday of the month from 6 to 8pm.
Bring your own supplies and join us, all skill levels are welcome, free admission.

We're trying a few new things in 2026.
The Art Hunger will continue to offer opportunities for artists to showcase their work. We will also be making some changes to our Artist Calls to inspire and encourage artists to create new work.
We'll be posting everything here and on our social media, so, keep an eye out and join the artsy fun!
FEATURED ARTIST
In 2026, The Art Hunger Gallery will offer a limited number of Featured Artist opportunities for those looking to present their work in a more focused and elevated way. This opportunity is designed to highlight individual artists within our exhibition schedule, offering increased visibility, curatorial support, and community engagement.
Selected artists will be featured through dedicated wall space, promotion across The Art Hunger’s platforms, and opportunities to connect with collectors, peers, and the broader community.
The Featured Artist program reflects our commitment to supporting artists in different stages of their career while continuing to showcase the depth and diversity of creative voices in Northern California and beyond.

Our Artist Calls are an open invitation to artists to share their work, explore new opportunities, and be a part of a growing creative community. Through regular calls for exhibitions, projects, and special programs, The Art Hunger supports artists at all stages by offering visibility, professional opportunities, and a platform to connect with the public. We encourage artists to submit, take creative risks, and grow alongside a community committed to nurturing the local art scene.
