FEATURED ARTIST
In 2026, The Art Hunger Gallery is introducing our Featured Artist Program.
This program offers a limited number of opportunities each year for artists to present a focused, cohesive body of work in a dedicated exhibition alongside our scheduled art shows.
Selection is based primarily on the strength, consistency, and clarity of an artist’s body of work, as well as their artistic vision and professional presentation.
Only a few Featured Artist slots are available, allowing us to give each selected artist meaningful visibility, curatorial attention, and promotional support. Artists considered for this program should demonstrate a clear artistic direction and a thoughtful approach to how their work is presented.
Interested artists must carefully review and complete all requirements outlined in our linked Google Form. Submissions should include a strong portfolio, an artist bio and statement.
Our selection process reflects professional gallery standards, prioritizing artists who show commitment to their practice, consistency in their work, and readiness for a high-visibility exhibition opportunity.

*this is NOT a Solo Art Show opportunity.

ARTIST CALLS
The Art Hunger regularly hosts open artist calls for our exhibitions, pop-up shows, and special projects throughout the year. These opportunities are open to artists working in a wide range of mediums and styles, with a strong emphasis on creativity, diversity, and community representation.
Our artist calls are designed to be accessible and inclusive, while still maintaining a thoughtful curatorial process. Each submission is reviewed by our curatorial team, and selections are based on how well the work aligns with the theme of the exhibition, the strength of the work, and how it contributes to a cohesive and engaging show.
We encourage artists at all stages of their careers to apply and to carefully follow the submission guidelines listed in each call. Artist calls are typically announced on our website and social media, with clear deadlines, requirements, and expectations. If selected, artists gain the opportunity to showcase their work in a professional gallery setting and be part of The Art Hunger’s ongoing mission to nurture and strengthen the local art scene.

APRIL
24 KARAT
Gold-themed art show
24 Karat invites artists to explore gold as both material and metaphor.
From reflections on labor, land, and extraction to works driven by luminosity, opulence, or abstraction, 24 Karat seeks artworks that engage with gold as history, myth, surface, or concept. Whether literal or conceptual, subtle or bold, we encourage artists to consider how gold—real or imagined—continues to shape narratives of place, power, and desire.
REQUIREMENTS:
Rooted in Northern California’s gold mining history and the cultural legacy it left behind, this exhibition also welcomes contemporary interpretations inspired by the color gold itself.

MAY
MONA LISA SMILE
Da Vinci's Mona Lisa-themed art show
For this art show, we want artists to engage with one of the most iconic images in art history through contemporary eyes. This themed exhibition centers on reinterpretations of Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, encouraging artists to explore the painting’s enduring mystique, cultural saturation, and symbolic power.
Artists are invited to respond freely through homage, critique, abstraction, humor, deconstruction, or personal narrative.
Artworks should examine ideas of beauty, identity, gender, fame, authorship, or the image’s transformation in popular culture, We are looking for fresh perspectives that challenge, reimagine, or expand the meaning of this timeless portrait.
REQUIREMENTS:
We welcome bold, thoughtful, and unexpected approaches that speak to how a 16th-century painting continues to resonate in a contemporary, image-driven world.
